College Heights Baptist Church of Manhattan, KS

Because we believe that it is important for believers to gather for worship and we want to do so in such a way that we love one another and also serve our community well, we will adopt the following as we begin to conduct public worship services.

  • Those who believe the risk is too great to attend public worship are welcome to stay at home with our blessing. We will continue to provide the video service online so that everyone can participate.
  • Anyone who is not feeling well or has a fever should not attend worship.
  • All congregants are expected to follow the Governor’s current best practices. I.e. wearing a mask is encouraged but not mandatory; a stay at home quarantine is mandated for 14 days after travelling to areas declared to be COVID-19 hot spots.
  • We will prioritize gathering together for corporate worship, which means that Sunday morning Bible Studies will initially not meet together.
  • Nursery and Children’s Church will not be offered initially.
  • We will not have the coffee and bagels fellowship time prior to worship.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at both entrances as well as throughout the building. Please use the hand sanitizer as you enter the building.
  • We will practice social distancing which means:
    • Every other pew will be roped off.
    • We will refrain from handshakes and hugs
    • We will not be able to congregate in the lobby areas. Everyone will be encouraged to move directly to the sanctuary.
    • Signs will be provided at appropriate places to remind us of our need to keep 6 feet of distance between individuals.
    • Families should sit together in the same pew. Singles or two smaller families may share a pew but should sit on opposite ends of the pew.
    • Because groups of 10 or fewer are allowed, if you are comfortable sitting next to someone outside of your family, please consider inviting a single person who is alone to join you.
    • Please keep traffic in hallways and entrances going one direction. Traffic should move toward the sanctuary before worship and away from it after the service.
  • We will make these adjustments to limit contamination of high touch items
    • We will not pass an offering plate. A locked box will be provided or giving can still be done online, or by mail.
    • All items will be removed from the pews including Hymnals and Bibles
    • Bulletins and Welcome Packets will be set out for pick up but will not be handed out by ushers.
    • Entrance doors will be propped open.
